We’re Live on Kickstarter: Meet the Jamstik Core

We’re Live on Kickstarter: Meet the Jamstik Core

August 19, 2025

Big news—we’re back on Kickstarter! It’s been ten years since we launched our very first Jamstik, and now we’re returning to our roots with something brand new: the Jamstik Core.

The Core is our most affordable, most plug-and-play MIDI guitar yet. At its heart, it’s a solid-body electric guitar—but it also works as a full MIDI controller. That means you can record both analog and MIDI at the same time, trigger synths and drum machines, or plug straight into your DAW and start creating. No batteries, no Bluetooth pairing, no extra boxes or converters to deal with. Just plug in via USB-C (or TRS-MIDI if you’re into hardware) and play.

“We’ve taken everything musicians love about our higher-end guitars and made it simpler, more compact, and more affordable,” says Jonathan Keller, our lead engineer. “It’s the kind of tracking and performance you’d normally only find on pro-level gear, but at a price that’s way more accessible.”

Watch This:

  • A real 22-fret electric guitar you can plug into amps, pedals, or interfaces.
  • A class-compliant MIDI controller for DAWs, plugins, notation software, and virtual instruments.
  • USB-C powered—no charging, no drivers, just plug and play.
  • TRS-MIDI output for connecting to hardware synths, samplers, and more.
  • Jamstik Creator software (Mac & PC) to customize string sensitivity, tuning, and pitch bend.

Inside, there’s a precision hexaphonic pickup and onboard processing that handles MIDI conversion in real-time. Translation: low-latency performance that feels natural whether you’re recording, teaching, or performing.

Why Kickstarter?

We’ve always believed crowdfunding is more than just raising money—it’s about building with our community. Our past campaigns helped launch the Jamstik+ and Jamstik Studio, and now we’re excited to bring you along for this next chapter. Backing early helps us order in bigger volumes, keep costs down, and get the Core into as many hands as possible.

Pricing & Options

Early backers can grab the Jamstik Core starting at $479 (limited quantity). Other tiers are available at $499 and $529 before it eventually goes to MSRP at $679.

Color options include Midnight Black, Glacier White, Sky Blue, Lilac Purple, Forest Green, and Red Coral—plus left-handed versions in Black & White.

Ready to Play?

The Jamstik Core Kickstarter campaign is officially live! If you’ve been waiting for an affordable, plug-and-play MIDI guitar, this is it.

And if you can’t back right now, sharing the campaign with your friends, bandmates, or music groups helps us more than you know. Thanks for being part of this journey—we can’t wait to hear what you create.
