Plug n’ play user friendly midi solution!

The guitar itself is very playable and I speak as someone who owns, ahem, ‘quite a few’. Unlike other devices I’ve tried, this is a highly user friendly device. I was using it to play 3rd party synth plugins in Logic literally right after plugging it in! Moreover, the tracking is superb. Well worth the money!

my new favorite guitar

fantastic guitar overall. The only complaint I have is that, depending on your guitar stand, you have trouble plugging the charging cable in. Probably not an issue with 90% of the of the stands out there but if you have a low profile one, be aware.

It’s really good.

Although I have another guitar I have never been one to practice. Since I got my Jamstik Studio that has changed. I practice everyday now and am at a level just above ****! Something about the size appeals to me and being able to use it to play synths just adds to the flexibility. It has been a game changer for me

Great product, workflow increased but with some improvement

Great product. Definitely speeding up workflow and nice on the eye. Just wish the tuning would be more conventional rather having to put that small crank out to tune it everytime. Apart from that, great effort team.

This product is amazing!!! Essentially it allows guitarists to play any instrument on our fretboard. It also adds a new dimension to the sound now that you can slide and bend too. It’s a breakthrough. Oh and the Jamstik folks are very responsive and fast to help.

The best of midi controllers

I’ve used quite a few guitar midi controllers and all leave artefacts or unintended midi notes but the Jamstik Studio outperforms them all. Well done guys.

Great for composers

Want to focus on your sound and not on your scores? This guitar is made for you! Play your music with the guitar in an amp and record it in a midi tracker. Import the track in muescore, and tadaa, the complete score is done and good (regarding what you played). No more question on what you exactly played here and there. A great tool to be productive.

Great customer experience online, ordering and shipping! Guitar five star.

I’ve only had this for only a week but I love it. It does what it’s supposed to. But I’d really like to speak to my customer experience so far -- excellent. I enquired about availability through Facebook page and got a response right away telling me that while Studio wasn’t in stock at the time, but it would be available soon. A week later, the FB page proactively messaged me to tell me it was now available. I purchased Studio and it was shipped to me in Singapore. I had it in my hands within one week. I found that whole experience to be quite amazing. And again, the guitar does exactly what it’s meant to do and I love it.

Jamstik Impresses and Delivers on the Promise of Easy Midi from a Guitar

The time to setup and tune the guitar, to install the software, and to get going was pretty easy. The guitar is also a great size and great sounding guitar. You can assign a different midi instrument to each string or just play an entire symphonic orchestra on the Jamstik Studio MIDI guitar. The USB C charging port and cable to connect works flawlessly and the included Jamstik Studio software (which has also been improved and updated already) is a great companion. There is also different modes of midi capture from single input without expression to full expression and string bending capture. Overall - I'm really happy with the entire experience and have also created a number of songs with the Jamstik from drums, to synths, to guitar to final product. Really cool - love it.

Best Midi Guitar

Fantastic Studio Midi Guitar Really helps easier to use than my Axiom 25 Key board especially high up on 2nd Octave Also in Presonus Studio One V 5 you can select each string to be a different instrument and get a full orchestral Symphony

Is the new Studio MIDI Guitar available left-handed?

We're gauging interest in mass production of a lefty model, so please join our waitlist if you have an intent of purchasing and we'll let you know first when they are available.

Is it working on pitch recognition or contact sensors?

We are using a special MIDI pickup for pitch recognition paired with our own unique onboard algorithmic processing to ensure this job is done as quickly and accurately as possible—all while retaining genuine guitar playability.

How long does pitch conversion take? Can you share latency numbers?

The time it takes the pitch conversion to process the information into MIDI data over USB or TRS averages to 10ms. The typical range is from 6ms-15ms. The final amount of latency will vary depending on the hardware specifications and task management of the paired device. Other measures can be taken to adjust latency by using the buffer rate settings of your DAW.

Are there onboard sounds?

No, there are no onboard sounds or effects built-in to the guitar. Just like a lot of MIDI keyboards, you'll have to connect your Jamstik to a device (smartphone, tablet, laptop/desktop computer) running either our software or third-party software to generate the sound. There is also a standard 1/4" guitar output, so you can utilizes amps, pedals, and interfaces as usual.

Can it be used for tabbing with software like Guitar Pro?

The Studio MIDI Guitar is compatible with any apps and DAWs that accept MIDI-input. It works great for scoring in Guitar Pro by entering notes step by step, however, you will need to add things like hammer-on, slides, bends & other articulations manually after the note information has been entered since the software does not currently support real-time MIDI implementation.

Will it be able to transpose MIDI to different octaves or tunings?

In general, whatever physical tuning the guitar is at will dictate the MIDI pitch, so you can set any tuning you like. However, at very low tunings there may be some performance degradation. With 24 frets available, there shouldn't be a great need to octave up or down, but you can always play in standard tuning and transpose the MIDI data in your DAW.

Will the software require a DAW?

While the Studio MIDI guitar will work right out of the box with all MIDI-capable DAWs and plugins, the guitar does not require a DAW. The compatible Jamstik VST/AU Plugin can run as a standalone app on Mac and Windows and includes a curated library of specifically designed sounds for the Studio guitar.

Does it utilize MPE (MIDI Polyphonic Expression?

Yep, it's sending pitch bend/CC messages on multiple channels.

What are the Minimum & Recommended System Requirements?

- 4 GB of RAM
- Mac OSX 10.13 (*High Sierra*)
- 50 MB free hard disc space for installer (7.5GB for Sample Library)
MacOS Recommended Requirements

Windows Recommended Requirements

- Windows 10
- 50 MB free hard disc space for installer (7.5GB for Sample Library)

Do you have to use special strings?

Any metal strings will work just fine—The MIDI pickup is magnetic, so the guitar requires you to use metal strings rather than nylon. We'd recommend following standard .010–.046 gauges, but slightly below or above this range should be fine, though may require some sensitivity adjustments.

Can I use a Bluetooth speaker or wireless headphones?

No, you'll want to use a wired connection (aux cord) instead of a Bluetooth speaker or wireless headphones to avoid unwanted latency.

Are there any Duties, Taxes, or VAT included in the pricing?

No, every country, state, province, and city has different rules—making it impossible to calculate and pay accurately. All Duties, VAT, or any taxes are the responsibility of the customer.
