We live in a point and click (touch, swipe & tap) world, and consumers are used to spending their money online. Zivix got its start selling online; before you could ever buy a jamstik in store, you could buy it on our website and we'd ship it out from our offices in Minneapolis. However, we're keenly aware that it runs counter to the tradition in the Music Instruments industry; where historically you'd go to a physical location and try out a guitar before buying it. There's just something about picking a guitar up, seeing how it feels in your hands, and hearing how it sounds.
We can do a lot with video demonstrations, testimonials, and user feedback, but for a long time, we've desired a chance to have users pick up and play with our products in person. We've had our product in over 300+ Apple Stores, but it's hard to compete with the shiny new Apple devices laid out on the pristine tables ready to be touched and interacted with.
In January 2016, an innovative team called B8ta reached out to us with an opportunity we'd been looking forward to for a while. They had a vision for a clean and updated retail store that showcased the latest innovative electronic and tech products. The key part being that each product would have a dedicated iPad & be fully playable—users could finally go to the store and try out a product in a space made for interaction! We've since included the jamstik+ in five of their retail stores—Palo Alto, Seattle, Santa Monica, and Austin.

In the summer of 2017, we connected with the progressive team at Smartech—a destination for innovation focusing on an immersive experience. Like B8ta, Smartech makes it simple for customers to discover, experience, and buy the latest inspiring IoT and connected devices, all in one place. The tech hubs are conveniently located in the Selfridges Department stores in London and Manchester.

This holiday season, we're quite excited to be included in the Home for the Holidays collection at STORY—a retail concept store that "takes the point of view of a magazine, changes like a gallery and sells things like a store."
Every four to eight weeks, STORY completely reinvents itself from the design to the merchandise — with the goal of bringing to light a new theme, trend or issue. The creativity behind this store is unparalleled and we're delighted to have the jamstik+ be a part of this unique retail experience. If you find yourself in New York City this holiday season, be sure to stop by the Manhattan store!
We recently added a few additional retailers, including SmarTone in Hong Kong, and iVANZi in New York City, and we're looking forward to expanding the jamstik into new markets and innovative retailers. Interactive retail will change the way we discover and experience technology, and in the end, allow buyers to make more informed purchasing decisions. It’s a win-win for both makers and customers alike.
