The MFC1 supports USB MIDI In passthrough for the Jamstik MIDI Guitar or other MIDI devices, 5 Pin and USB MIDI out and has multiple programmable footswitches, rotary encoders, and inputs for expression or sustain pedals that can be mapped to control:

  • Jamstik Device Settings (Transpose, Octave Transpose, Pitch Bend, String Envelope, MIDI Mode)
  • MIDI CC (Control Change commands to change synth parameters in a majority of hardware/software synthesizers and samplers)
  • MIDI Program Change (to change patches or presets in software and hardware)
  • MIDI Notes
  • MMC Transport Controls (play, stop, record, and loop the timeline in a DAW)
  • Jamstik Creator commands (to change macro values and switch presets in Jamstik Creator)

Can the MFC1 be used in a live performance setting?

Absolutely! The MFC1 is designed for live performance, providing quick and reliable access to your programmed MIDI commands, helping you manage complex setups hands-free on stage. Use the footswitches, encoders, and pedal inputs to change presets or patches, change Jamstik device settings, and MIDI CC and Program Change values to change synth parameters and more of your MIDI compatible hardware/software.

How will the MFC1 improve my experience with a Jamstik MIDI Guitar?

When you plug your Jamstik into the MIDI Input of the MFC1, you can quickly change Jamstik Device settings without connecting to a computer or mobile device directly on the MFC1 through the Jamstik Device Settings menu. You can also map Jamstik settings like transpose and MIDI mode to different encoders, pedals, or footswitches to quickly switch between Jamstik settings to fit the needs of the software or hardware you are working with.

Can the MFC1 improve DAW/Studio workflows?

The MFC1 is a great companion for the studio musician. The footswitches, encoders, and expression or sustain pedal inputs can be mapped to MMC controls to quickly play, stop, record, or loop your timeline in a DAW without taking your hands off your instrument. You can also map these to MIDI CC commands to control synth parameters in nearly every software or hardware MIDI instrument or plugin as well as use MIDI Program Change commands to cycle through patches and presets in supported software and hardware.

The MFC1 also supports multiple onboard profiles that can be switched easily and quickly onboard to suit the different control needs of different plugins, tracks, or even DAWs and transcription software that you can switch between.

How does the MFC1 work with my non-Jamstik MIDI devices?

By plugging a class-compliant USB MIDI device into the MFC’s USB MIDI In port, the MFC can forward MIDI messages from third-party devices while adding its own MIDI output. All MIDI will be sent out of the MFC’s USB MIDI Out port under the “Jamstik MFC1” MIDI device. All MIDI will also be sent out the 5-pin MIDI Out port. In this way, the MFC1 can act as a USB-to-5-pin-MIDI converter.

Can I use the MFC1 to control guitar effects pedals?

While the MFC1 is primarily a MIDI controller, it can control any MIDI-compatible guitar effects pedals or devices that accept MIDI input, allowing seamless integration with any pedalboard that accepts either MIDI CC, MIDI Program Change, or MIDI Note messages.
